AUSTIN, Texas — The Texas Women's Basketball team led the whole way and came away with a 67-50 victory over Cincinnati on Saturday at Moody Center.
Senior Taylor Jones filled the stat sheet with 13 points, nine rebounds and a career-high seven blocked shots. Jones also recorded three steals.
Aaliyah Moore scored in double figures for the fifth straight game with 16 points and added seven rebounds. Shaylee Gonzales recorded her 500th career assist to go along with 13 points and six rebounds. Ndjakalenga Mwenentanda came off the bench to score eight points on 3-of-3 shooting and 2-of-2 from the free-throw line.
The Longhorns (19-3, 6-3) started off the game with five blocks in the first quarter, all from Taylor Jones and led 16-12 after the opening period.
Texas never trailed in the game, with the highest lead of 19 points at the last quarter, and
limited Cincinnati to only 24 points in the paint. Texas got separation in the third quarter as they outscored Cincinnati 20-11 in the third frame.
Up next Texas will travel to Waco facing off against Baylor at Foster Pavilion on Thursday, Feb. 1

• With the win Texas improved to 19-3 overall and 6-3 in the Big 12.
Tonight's game was only the second matchup against the Cincinnati Bearcats all-time, and the • Longhorns now have a perfect 2-0 record against them.
• Texas ended the game outscoring Cincinnati in every quarter.
• The Longhorns became the first team to out-rebound the Bearcats in conference play with a total of 46 to 32 and outscored them in second-chance points 15-6.
• Texas is now 12-0 when holding an opponent to 59 points or under.
• In the third quarter Texas went on an 11-0 run.
• Aaliyah Moore reached double digits in points for the fifth game in a row and led the team with 16 points and seven rebounds.
• Graduate student Shaylee Gonzales reached 500 career assists tonight, scored 13 points on 50 percent shooting from the field, and grabbed six boards. Gonzales played 39 minutes in the game.
• Texas shot 23-of-29 (79.3 percent) from the free-throw line. The Longhorns were +14 at the free-throw line over Cincinnati.
• After notching a career-high points in the previous game Senior Shay Holle played 39 minutes for the Longhorns and had a balanced nine points, four offensive rebounds, three assists, one steal, and one block.
• Texas limited Cincinnati to 33.3 percent shooting from the field and 20.0 percent shooting from the 3-point line.
