• BOOKER ON WOODEN AWARD LIST: Freshman Madison Booker was named to the Wooden Award top 20 watch list on Tuesday for the player of the year award. Booker is one of three freshmen on the list and one of two players in the Big 12 on the list. Last week Booker was named to the Cheryl Miller Award top 10 finalist list, the award for top female collegiate small forward.
• BOOKER ON THE BIG STAGE: In Big 12 play, Booker is averaging 20.6 points, 6.8 rebounds, 5.6 assists, while shooting 47.1 percent from the field and 90.4 percent from the free-throw line. In Big 12 play, Booker ranks second in league games in scoring, eighth in rebounding and first in assists. Booker is now eighth on the Longhorns all-time list for assists by a freshman with 99.
• AALIYAH MOORE COMEBACK: Last season Aaliyah Moore tore her ACL and played only nine games. On her 21st birthday Moore scored 17 points on 7-7 shooting from the field in the Longhorns win over Kansas. Moore has scored in double figures in five straight games.
• JONES BLOCK PARTY: Taylor Jones set a career-high with seven blocked shots in the Longhorns win over Cincinnati.
• HOLLE HEATING UP: Senior Shay Holle had a breakout game with a career-high 22 points against Oklahoma on 10-of-12 shooting from the field. She made both of her two 3-point field goals.
• SHAYLEE GOING OFF: Shaylee Gonzales tied her career-high with six 3-pointers in the Longhorns win over Jackson State on Dec. 27. Gonzales led Texas with 21 points in the game. Gonzales has made 27 three-point field goals over her last 12 games Against Kansas State Gonzales recorded her 200th career 3-point field goal. Gonzales recorded her 500thcareer assist vs. Cincinnati and is sixth among all active DI players in career scoring with 2,241 points. Gonzales is one of four active players with over 2,000 points and at least 500 assists.
• GETTING TO THE FREE-THROW LINE: On the season Texas has made 354 free-throws and their opponents have attempted 339. Texas is +117 over opponents in made free-throws this season.
• POUNDING THE PAINT: The Longhorns are +16.9 points per game over opponents in points in the paint this season. Texas averages 42.8 paint points per game.
