James Barr inducted into the Texas Track & Field Coaches Association HOF

Barr joins seven others in the 15th annual HOF class
WACO, Texas – Former Texas Athletics Associate Athletic Director for Events and Game Operations, James Barr, was inducted into the Texas Track and Field Coaches Association's 15th Annual Hall of Fame Class on Friday night.
Barr worked for the Texas Athletics department for 19 years, starting in the equipment room before rising to his final title. In 2012, Barr assumed the roll of the Texas Relays meet director – the second-largest annual track and field meet in the United States.
A 2019 recipient of the University of Texas President's Outstanding Staff Award, Barr was named the 2013 USA Track and Field Meet Director of the Year. He was the later selected as the Honorary Referee at the 92nd annual Texas Relays that same season. Barr left a lasting impression on the Texas Relays for his tireless effort and his kind-spirted attitude toward everyone at not only the Texas Relays, but the Texas UIL State meet and the NCAA Championships in 2019.
Barr will be joined by seven other Texas Track and Field legends like Chris Beene, Willie Blackmon, Billy Foster, Wes Kittley, Ellen (Smith) Robinson, Raevyn Rogers and Darold Williamson.
Barr now works at his alma mater, Tennessee, serving as the Associate Athletics Director of Event Management where he oversees events and hospitality in addition to event management.
