No. 29/NR Cross Country concludes regular season at Wisconsin Pre-Nationals

Isaac Alonzo and Olivia Howell lead Texas as top finishers
MADISON, Wisc. – Isaac Alonzo and Olivia Howell lead No. 29/NR Texas cross country program as the top finishers at the Wisconsin Pre-Nationals meet after both finished 32nd overall in both races.
Alonzo recorded a two-second personal best in the 8K with his time of 23:19.0 as the Longhorns top finisher. The No. 29 men finished 27th overall with 687 points.
Sophomore Jack Boyd lowered his 8K personal best by 41 seconds with a time of 24:16.7. Junior Nathanael Berhane finished just behind in 24:17.5 in his season opener. Senior Nigusom Knight set a 32-second personal best when he finished in 24:26.3.
Later, junior Hudson Heikkinen finished his third race of the season in 24:53.2. Logan Patete (25:20.7) and Hudson Bennett (25:40.1) were the final two scorers for Texas.
On the women's side, Howell led the Longhorns for the third race this season with her time of 20:04.0 in the 6K. Her time was just two seconds off her personal best. Junior Elizabeth Pickett recorded a 19-second personal best when she crossed the finish line in 20:17.1.
Fresh off her massive PB in the last race, Eva Jess was the third finisher for UT with her time of 20:41.0. Graduate transfer Elizabeth Stockman crossed in 21:00.5 and freshman Sydni Wilkins was close behind in 21:01.7.
Kyra Pretre (21:28.5) and Brighton Mooney (21:49.0) were the final scorers for the women.
Both teams will compete on Nov. 1 at the SEC Championships in College Station.
