Megan Hogate becomes first Texas student-athlete to be honored by SEC for community service
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The University of Texas' Megan Hogate was selected as a member of the Southeastern Conference's (SEC) 20th annual women's soccer Community Service Team, the league announced Wednesday afternoon.
Throughout her time on the Forty Acres, Hogate has participated in two international service trips, one to Costa Rica (2021) and one to Guatemala (2022). She's been a member of the Texas Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) since the Fall of 2022. In 2023, she served on the SAAC E-Board as the Community Service Coordinator.
Additionally, Hogate has helped spearhead service efforts with Longhorn Halloween, TANCSgiving and a Valentine's Drive for the Dell's Children's Medical Center. In April 2024, she was the lead for Texas' inaugural Special Olympics Field Day and was selected to participate in the NCAA Career Sports Forum over this past summer.

Hogate, along with nine additional Texas women's soccer student-athletes, will be honored following Thursday night's match against Missouri (7 p.m. CT / SEC Network+) that will mark the final regular season home match for the Longhorn senior class.
