Jess leads No. 29 Women's Cross Country to sixth-place finish

Six of the seven Longhorns who competed set personal bests in 6K race.
CHICAGO, Ill. – Eva Jess led the No. 29 women's cross country team to a sixth-place finish at the Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational on Friday morning.
Jess finished with a 72-second personal best time in the 6K with her time of 19:59.99. It's her third-straight race setting a personal best after setting two back-to-back 5K bests. Olivia Howell was the next Longhorn to cross the finish line in 20:08.00 in 16th to round out the top-20 finishers for UT.
Junior Elizabeth Pickett set a 32-second personal record in the 6K after finishing 40th overall with her time of 20:36.87. Grad transfer Elizabeth Stockman was next with an 11-second PB with a time of 20:42.67.
Freshman Sydni Wilkins competed in her first collegiate 6K and finished in 20:51.14 and 56th overall. Junior Brighton Mooney set a 26-second PB at 21:01.2, while sophomore Mackenize Browne rounded out the scorers for UT in 21:12.42, a 74-second PB.
