Women’s Tennis preview: ITA Texas Regionals

Five Longhorns will participate in the tournament from Oct. 10-14 in Fort Worth.
Austin – Five members of Texas Women's Tennis will participate in the ITA Texas Regional Championships from Oct. 10-14 in Fort Worth.
Sophomore Maddy MacNeille and freshman Audrey Deatherage will open in the qualifying draw on Thursday. MacNeille will face Marina Adati of the University of North Texas at 8 a.m. CT, while Deatherage will take on qualifying 7 seed Ekua Youri of UTSA at 9:30 a.m. CT.
Three will start in the main draw on Friday, including junior No. 96 Vivian Ovrootsky, who is the 4 seed, and freshmen No. 104 Ashton Bowers, who is the 5 seed, and Ariana Anazagasty-Pursoo, who is the 9 seed.
Two doubles pairs will also compete with Ovrootsky and Bowers combining as the 3 seed, along with Deatherage and MacNeille. The main draw for that will also begin on Friday.
