No. 4 Women’s Basketball gets past Lamar, 95-58

AUSTIN, Texas — No. 4 Texas women's basketball played 12 of their 14 players against Lamar University on Wednesday night. The Longhorns outscored the Cardinals 51-14 in the first half to propel them to a 95-58 victory at Moody Center.
Texas (2-0) forced 28 Lamar turnovers across the game, scoring 41 points as a result. Eleven Longhorns scored against Lamar, with the Texas bench recording 46 points. Nine Texas players made at least 50 percent of their field goals.
Senior guard Shay Holle and freshman forward Justice Carlton led the Longhorns with 15 points while freshman guard Jordan Lee followed with 12 points. Center Kyla Oldacre led the team with seven rebounds and guard Rori Harmon led with eight assists.
In the opening quarter, Texas went on a 15-0 scoring run forcing eight Lamar turnovers in just under five minutes to solidify a 17-4 lead. The Longhorns began the second half with a 37-point lead over the Cardinals, after recording 16 rebounds and 13 assists in the first two quarters.
The Longhorns travel to Chicago this week to face DePaul University (2-1) on Sunday November 17, 2024 at 6:30pm. This game will be televised on FS1.
