Madison Booker scores 22 points in the victory for the Longhorns.
WACO, Texas — The Texas Women's Basketball team scored nine of the first 11 points of the game and pulled away for a 67-55 victory on Thursday at Foster Pavilion.
Madison Booker led Texas with 22 points and Aaliyah Moore tallied 19 points and seven rebounds. Taylor Jones scored 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting. Jones scored the first seven Texas points of the second half.
Trailing 20-13 in the second quarter, the Longhorns called a timeout and came back with a 14-0 run to go up 27-20 with 44 seconds left in the half.
Texas held Baylor without a field goal over the final 3:58 of the third quarter and used an 11-2 run to go up 49-40 at the end of the third period. Booker scored seven of the Longhorns 11 points over the span.
The Longhorns held Baylor to 35.1 percent shooting from the field and 23.3 percent shooting from beyond the 3-point line.
Up next the Longhorns host No. 2 Kansas State on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. CT at Moody Center.
