Nubbe records second-best throw in UT history at NCAAs
BOSTON, Mass. – Sophomore Jeremiah Nubbe opened the 2024 NCAA Indoor Championships finishing ninth in the men's weight throw.
The 2024 Big 12 weight throw champion's first throw of 22.19m (72-9.75) was his best throw of the night and also ranks as the second-best throw in Texas history. Nubbe claimed the program record two weeks ago with his winning throw of 22.79m.
Thursday's finish gave Nubbe his second USTFCCCA Second Team All-America honor after finishing 15th in the discus at the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Championships.
Nubbe's finish is the best finish for Texas in the weight throw since Alan Zapalac finished eighth at the 2018 NCAA Indoor Championships.
