Lindhorst breaks into school's 800m all-time performer list

Longhorns set seven personal bests during day two of the distance carnival.
AZUSA, CA – The No. 10 men's and women's track and field squad competed on the second day of the Bryan Clay Invitational in the distance carnival.
Amity Ebarb began the night running a one-second personal-best in the women's 800-meter invite with her time of 2:07.39. In the men's invite, Cole Lindhorst broke into the UT all-time top 10 performer list at No. 8 with his personal-best time of 1:47.25. Lindhorst's time was ninth overall and was the third-fastest time by a collegian.
Elizabeth Pickett later ran a 15-second personal best in the 5,000-meter finishing ninth in her heat at 16:35.15.
In the men's 5,000-meter, Emmanuel Sgouros ran in heat 3 of the invite and scorched a 37-personal best time of 13:53.63. Sam Bass led three Longhorns in the open 5,000m with his personal-best time of 14:11.35, shedding five seconds off his previous best time. Hudson Heikkinen also set a new best with his time of 14:17.13, while Jack Boyd also recorded a PB at 14:23.64. Nigusom Knight finished in 14:37.39, while Henry Coughlan ran his first collegiate 5K in 14:46.46.
