Cindy Hsu qualifies for U.S. Women’s Open, Bentley Cotton secures spot as an alternate.
ROCKWALL, Texas — The Texas women's golf team filled the leaderboard at a U.S. Women's Open qualifying event, which wrapped up on Tuesday at Rockwall Golf & Athletic Club.
Cindy Hsu carded a 36 hole eight-under-par 136 with rounds of 68 and 68 to finish in second position, with the top two earning qualifying spots.
Bentley Cotton finished fourth with a six-under-par 138 after rounds of 71 and 67. Cotton is the second alternate.
Seven Texas players finished at two-under-par or better with two-under-par being T14 on the leaderboard.
The 79th U.S. Women's Open Championships Presented by Ally will take place May 30-June 2 at Lancaster Country Club in Lancaster, Pa.
Current UT players Lauren Kim and Farah O'Keefe competed at the 78th U.S. Women's Open at Pebble Beach.
