Beach Volleyball opens up TCU Invitational

The Longhorns dropped 3-2 matches to Houston Christian and Hawaii on Friday.

FORT WORTH, Texas – Texas Beach Volleyball kicked off the TCU Invitational with matches against Houston Christian and No. 11 Hawaii on Friday in Fort Worth.

The Longhorns dropped both matches in tough 3-2 losses to start the tournament.

In the first match of the day, the No. 1 pair of Katie Hashman and Emma Grace Robertson picked up a win and at No. 3, Macey Butler and Ava Patton won as well. Both the No. 4 and No. 5 flights were extremely close and went to a third set but the Longhorns came up just short.

Against Hawaii to close out the first day, Macey Butler and Devin Kahahawai won on court No. 2 and Ayden Ames and Hannah Ogden picked up a win at the No. 3 flight.

Texas will be back in action on Saturday against Houston Christian again at 11 a.m. and then against the hosts No. 5 TCU at 3:30 p.m.
