Texas set to host fourth NCAA Regional under sixth-year head coach Mike White
AUSTIN, Texas – With the 2024 regular season now in the rear view mirror, The University of Texas' softball program will begin the postseason portion of its season by opening up the 2024 NCAA Austin Regional against Siena at 3 p.m. CT on Friday, May 17. This weekend's regional will mark the fourth time the top-seeded and top-ranked Longhorns have hosted a NCAA Regional under sixth-year head coach Mike White.

Game 1 – No. 4 Siena (33-20) vs. No. 1 Texas (47-7), 3 PM – Longhorn Network
Game 2 – No. 3 St. Francis (40-12) vs. No. 2 Northwestern (33-11), 5:30 PM – ESPN+

Game 3 – Winner Game 2 vs. Winner Game 1, 12 PM – TBD

LEADING OFF
- This weekend's action will mark the first time Texas has hosted a NCAA Regional in back-to-back seasons while the final two seasons of a four-year span from 2010 to 2013.
- Throughout the program's history, Texas is 29-7 is regional games played at Red & Charline McCombs Field since hosting its first-ever regional in 2003.
- A potential matchup against Saint Francis would be the first between the two programs since the 2021 NCAA Austin Regional, where the Longhorns knocked off the Red Flash, 12-0, in five innings on May 21.
- Friday afternoon's game between Texas and Siena will mark the first-ever meeting between the two programs.
- Northwestern is the only team in this season's Austin Regional that Texas has faced multiple times throughout the program's history.
- The Longhorns and Wildcats have met seven total times with an eighth game scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 18, 2024 in Clearwater, Fla., but that matchup was canceled due to rain in and around the Tampa area that weekend.
- UT holds a 2-1 all-time record against NU in games played in Austin.
- In the two games Texas has won, the Longhorns have outscored the Wildcats, 10-0.

- Not only will Reese Atwood enter this weekend's action on the heels of another RBI record, but Texas' freshman Katie Stewart is also three RBI shy of breaking Viviana Martinez' program freshman record of 52 set throughout the 2023 season.
- As a result of Stewart reaching the 50-RBI mark this season, Katie Stewart (50) and Reese Atwood (86) are the first pair of Longhorn softball teammates to drive in 50-or-more runs in a single season.
- The previous high by a pair of teammates was 47 and 46 RBI each by Lindsey Stephens and Erin Shireman during the 2015 season.
- As a result of Stewart reaching the 50-RBI mark this season, Katie Stewart (50) and Reese Atwood (86) are the first pair of Longhorn softball teammates to drive in 50-or-more runs in a single season.
