No. 8 Women’s Golf concludes day one at NCAA Championship

Selina Liao cards 1-under 71 to lead the Longhorns.
CARLSBAD, Calif. — The No. 8 Texas Women's Golf team wrapped up day one of the NCAA Championship on Friday at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa.
Playing in the afternoon wave the Longhorns shot 11-over-par 299 for their opening round and are tied for 21st on the team leaderboard.
Selina Liao carded a 1-under 71 with four birdies to lead Texas. The Longhorns started on hole 10 and Liao made three birdies on her first nine holes.
The Longhorns will go off the first tee tomorrow at 9:35 a.m. CT and will be paired with Southern California and Duke.
The Lineup
Selina Liao continued her strong play coming off a T5 finish at the NCAA Bermuda Run Regional with her 1-under 71 in round one of the NCAA Championship. Liao is T18 on the leaderboard after the opening round.
Lauren Kim made two birdies including a great approach shot into 14 for a birdie and carded a 4-over 76 in round one.
Farah O'Keefe played a clean second nine holes with one birdie and no bogeys. O'Keefe carded a 4-over 76 in the opening round.
Cindy Hsu birdied the par 4 fifth hole in her round and shot a 4-over 76.
Angela Heo birdied the par 4 13th hole and finished with a 6-over-par 78.
