No. 10 Women’s Golf tied for fifth after opening round of NCAA Regional

Angela Heo fired a three-under-par 69 on first day of NCAA Bermuda Run Regional.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — The No. 10 University of Texas women's golf team is tied for fifth place after the opening round of the Bermuda Run Regional on Monday.
Host Wake Forest leads the event at 11-under par. Tennessee is in second at 10-under par. Ole Miss and Mississippi State are tied for third at five-under-par and Texas and Oregon State are tied for fifth at three-under-par.
The Longhorns made 12 birdies on the front nine with each player making at least two. Angela Heo made the turn in four-under-par with birdies on holes eight and nine. Heo birdied the 17th hole and carded a three-under-par 69 for her round. Heo sits in a tie for fourth on the individual leaderboard.
Lauren Kim birdied holes six and seven and added a birdie on 11 as she finished her round at one-under-par and T16 on the leaderboard.
Texas had the third most birdies in the field with 17 for the opening round.
Texas will be paired with Mississippi State and Oregon State in the second round and will tee off from hole 10 at 7:00 a.m. CT tomorrow.

Angela Heo had a stretch on the front nine where she birdied four of five holes from five through nine. Heo carded a three-under-par 69 and is T4 on the leaderboard.
Lauren Kim carded three birdies on the day and finished at one-under-par and T16 on the individual leaderboard.
Selina Liao was two-under-par through 10 holes and finished with an even par round of 72. Liao is T22 on the leaderboard.
Cindy Hsu carded four birdied in the first round and finished with a one-over-par 73.
Farah O'Keefe birdied two of her first three holes of the day and finished with a two-over-par 74.
