Diving's Skilken places ninth in Women’s Platform final at U.S. Olympic Trials

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Former University of Texas diver Jordan Skilken posted a ninth-place finish in the Women's Platform final on Sunday evening at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Diving at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center. Only the top finisher in the men's and women's individual platform events earn automatic spots on the official Team USA roster.
Delaney Schnell claimed the victory in Sunday's final with a 10-dive cumulative score (that included Friday's semifinal round) of 638.00. Daryn Wright finished in second at 596.35, while Skilken placed ninth with a total of 506.15.
Skilken's final session was highlighted by a score of 64.40 on her first of five dives, an inward 2 ½ somersault pike (405B). Skilken entered Sunday's final in seventh place at 251.15 after Friday's semifinals. Schnell held the lead after the semifinals at 325.85.
