Women’s Golf selected No. 2 in Golf Channel preseason team rankings

O’Keefe and Kim tabbed preseason Second Team All-Americans, Hsu receives honorable mention.
AUSTIN, Texas — The University of Texas Women's Golf team is ranked No. 2 in the Golf Channel preseason team rankings announced today.
Golf Channel also announced their preseason All-Americans with three Longhorns being recognized. Farah O'Keefe and Lauren Kim earned spots on the second team, while Cindy Hsu received honorable mention.
The Longhorns advanced to the NCAA Championship for the eighth straight season and 32nd overall appearance in 2024 and finished T11. Texas earned their fifth conference championship in the last seven seasons.
Farah O'Keefe earned Big 12 Player and Freshman of the Year as well as All-America honors from the WGCA and Golfweek. Lauren Kim earned All-America honorable mention recognition from Golfweek. O'Keefe, Kim and Selina Liao earned All-Big 12 honors.
Getting it done in the classroom, Kim, Cindy Hsu, Bentley Cotton and Angela Heo earned Academic All-America honors from the Women's Golf Coaches Association.
This summer the Longhorns had several highlights. O'Keefe helped Team USA win the Palmer Cup in Ireland and came back to win the Western Amateur. Cindy Hsu qualified and competed in the U.S. Open and won the Women's Elite Amateur Series points race with three top-five finishes. Lauren Kim won a Canadian pro event. Texas was well represented at the U.S. Amateur with six participants, the most of any collegiate program.
Texas is one of 10 SEC schools to appear in the rankings, joined by South Carolina (5), Auburn (6), Arkansas (7), Texas A&M (11), Mississippi State (12), LSU (17), Florida (18), Vanderbilt (23) and Ole Miss (24).
