Softball signs seven in Top-4 recruiting class

Texas’ 2026 recruiting class is ranked fourth in the nation according to D1Softball and Softball America.
AUSTIN, Texas – University of Texas softball head coach Mike White announced the addition of seven new Longhorns on National Signing Day on Wednesday. The decorated class includes Annie Abdullah, Jordynn Booe, Josie Busceme, Mia Clemmer, Madi Doty, Aubrey Portie and Stevie South.
All seven will join Texas as freshmen during fall 2026. Texas' signing class is ranked No. 4 in the nation according to D1Softball and Softball America.
"We're excited to announce the high school graduating class of 2026," said White. "It is a class loaded with talent covering all the major areas in the game, including pitching, catching, infield and outfield. We're excited to welcome them to the Longhorn family. The future remains bright for the program."
Annie Abdullah
IF | R/R | 5'6 | Hollywood, Fla. | Doral Academy
A 2025 First-Team All-America selection per MaxPreps, Abdullah is also a two-time Dade-County Player of the Year (sophomore and junior year) at Doral Academy. The Hollywood, Fla., product is ranked as the top position player in the class of 2026 and the No. 2 overall recruit by Softball America. Abdullah also brings a plethora of experience playing on the world stage for USA Softball. She played with USA Softball and captured gold at the 2025 WBSC U-18 World Cup. In 2023, she also played for USA Softball and won gold at the U-15 WBSC World Cup and the Utsugi Cup. At the 2023 U-15 WBSC World Cup, Abdullah hit .300 with one home run, five RBI and 10 runs scored to lead her squad to gold. At the 2023 Utsugi Cup, Abdullah recorded a .429 batting average with three singles, three RBI and a run scored. Abdullah played travel ball with the Texas Bombers Gold, helping them win the 18u Alliance National Championship in 2024. Abdullah is the daughter of Jameel and Rhonda Abdullah and has two siblings, Christopher and Zoey. Her mother, Rhonda, played college softball at Georgia and her father, Jameel, wrestled at Boston University.
What Coach White is saying: "Annie Abdullah is a middle infielder who has played on both the U-15 and U-18 Team USA squads that won gold medals. She's a smooth-fielding shortstop and is a top-five recruit in the country."
Why Annie chose Texas: "Playing Softball at the University of Texas has been a dream of mine since I stepped foot on campus for a camp. I immediately fell in love with Austin, and of course, the great food. I believe the blend of the coaching staff, athletic and academic resources, and culture give me the best opportunity to reach all of my goals. Everything about the University of Texas is beautiful."

Jordynn Booe
UTL | L/R | 5'5 | Pflugerville, Texas | Weiss HS
Booe is a Pflugerville, Texas, native and holds multiple school records at Weiss High School, including career hits (152), runs scored (124), stolen bases (47), strikeouts (342) and innings pitched (277). A versatile weapon, Booe was tabbed to the 2025 Texas Girls Coaches Association's 5A All-State team, named the 2025 All-District MVP 12-5A and was honored as a finalist for the 2025 Austin Sports Journal Player of the Year. Booe helped Weiss clinch a 5A Area Championship in 2025, becoming the first team in program history to go three-rounds deep into the playoffs. Booe plays travel ball with Unity. Booe also played soccer, basketball, volleyball and rack track growing up. She is the daughter of James and Chrissy Booe and has a younger brother, James. Her mother, Chrissy, played softball at San Francisco State University and was inducted into the school's hall of fame in 2021.
What Coach White is saying: "Jordynn Booe is a true utility able to play infield and outfield equally well. A triple threat at the plate, Jordynn will give many defenses difficulty in getting her out."
Why Jordynn chose Texas: "I always knew there was something special about Texas. There were multiple reasons why I wanted to play at the school, but the number one reason would be the coaching and the staff. Every single person working for the athletic department made this choice easy for me. They were all so welcoming and fun to be around, and I knew I could easily be myself around everyone there. They made me feel like I was meant to be there, and that's what made me know that I wanted to continue my education and athletic career at the University of Texas."

Josie Busceme
OF | L/R | 5'7 | Austin, Texas | Bowie HS
Busceme is an Austin native who attends Bowie High School and plays travel ball with the Texas Bombers Gold. As a junior at Bowie in 2025, Busceme logged a .508 batting average and a .683 on-base percentage and was named to the All-District First-Team, All-District Academic Team and won a golden glove as the defensive MVP. In 2024-25, she was a 5A/6A TGCA All-Star team selection. As a sophomore, Busceme hit .441 with a .519 on-base percentage. During her freshman year, Busceme hit .421 with a .500 on-base percentage. Busceme helped the Texas Bombers clinch a runner-up finish at the 2025 18u Alliance National Championship. In addition to softball, Busceme ran varsity track from 2022-25 and qualified for the AAU Junior Olympics in the long jump and 100-meter. She qualified for the Texas Relays in the 100-meter and 4x100-meter relay. She is the daughter of Chris and Heidi Busceme and has two older brothers, Alec and Austin. Her great grandfather, Cleo Creamer "Smokey", played football and ran track at LSU.
What Coach White is saying: "Josie Busceme adds speed and defense to the outfield. She is a four-star recruit and is equally adept offensively and defensively."
Why Josie chose Texas: "During my first visit, all the coaches were very welcoming, and the players looked really comfortable. It seems like a great environment to learn in. I wanted to go up against the best competition and compete for a spot on the field. Watching Texas softball play, I learned they include a lot of speed in their lineup. I felt like it is the perfect place for me to learn from the best and fit in the lineup. It's very close to home, and I grew up a huge Texas fan."

Mia Clemmer
C/1B | R/R | 5'6 | Coahoma, Texas | Coahoma HS
Clemmer is from Coahoma, Texas, and attends Coahoma High School and plays travel ball for Unity. Clemmer guided Coahoma to 2023, 2024 and 2025 Texas 3A State Championships and was named a First-Team All-American by MaxPreps. Clemmer is a three-time, first-team all-conference selection while garnering two catcher of the year accolades and an offensive player of the year award. Clemmer was named to the TGCA and Blue Bell All-State teams in 2023-25. Clemmer is the daughter of Terry and Leticia Clemmer and has an older sister, Lindzi. Her father, Terry, played baseball at New Mexico Junior College and Texas State, and her sister, Lindzi, played softball at Lubbock Chrisitan University.
What Coach White is saying: "Mia Clemmer hails from Coahoma and was the catcher for current Longhorn pitcher Hannah Wells. Mia is a clutch hitter and excellent receiver behind the plate."
Why Mia chose Texas: "Playing softball at the University of Texas has always been a dream of mine. My dad wanted to play baseball at Texas, but he never got the chance. Texas was always the goal. When I laced it up for the first time, I had Texas softball in mind."

Madi Doty
RHP | R/R | 6'0 | Grandview, Texas | Grandview HS
Doty is a right-handed pitcher from Grandview, Texas, who goes to Grandview High School and plays travel with Texas Glory. According to Softball America, Doty is ranked as the No. 2 pitcher in the class of 2026 and fourth overall player. Doty helped Texas Glory to a 16u Alliance Co-Championship while earning Co-Tournament MVP honors. In 2025, she led Grandview to a Texas UIL Division I State Championship and was recognized as the championship game MVP. Doty was named the 2025 THSCA 2024-25 3A Super Elite Team MVP in addition to the TGCA 3A All-State team. Doty was selected as the 2025 FW All-Area Softball Super Team MVP and garnered district MVP honors. Doty has also won gold with the U-15 USA Junior Women's National Team at the U-15 Pan-American Games and U-15 World Cup. Growing up, Doty played basketball and volleyball and ran track and cross country. She is the daughter of Jerad and Stephanie Doty and has a younger brother, Jax. Her father, Jerad, played baseball at Texarkana Junior College and the University of Louisiana-Monroe.
What Coach White is saying: "Madi Doty is a right-handed pitcher who is ranked as high as No. 1 as a pitcher nationally. Throwing in the upper 60s with a deadly change, Madi will give many offenses trouble. She also played on both the USA U-15 and U-18 squads. She also possesses home run power at the plate."
Why Madi chose Texas: "I came to Texas for a camp, and I got to work one-on-one with Coach White. That's when I realized this is where I wanted to be. As I continued to go to camps, I got to know all the coaches and fell in love with the city of Austin."

Aubrey Portie
UTL | R/R | 5'10 | Lake Charles, La. | Sam Houston HS
Aubrey Portie is a utility player from Lake Charles, La., who attends Sam Houston High School and plays travel with Aces Fastpitch. In 2025, she powered Sam Houston to a Non-Select Division I 5A State Championship and was recognized on the LSCA 5A First-Team, LSWA 5A Honorable Mention All-State (2024 and 2025), First-Team All-SWLA Big Schools (2024-25) and the Sports Illustrated Louisiana High School All-State Team. Portie was awarded the American Press Female Athlete of the Year in 2025 as well. During her junior season, she played in 31 games and posted a .519 batting average with 42 hits, 14 home runs, 48 RBI, 55 runs scored and four walks. In addition to softball, Portie has played varsity volleyball for three seasons and helped her team win three district titles. She is the daughter of Jarrod and Sarah Portie and has a younger brother, Riggins. Her father played baseball at McNeese and mother played softball at McNeese.
What Coach White is saying: "Aubrey Portie will remind many Longhorn fans of Joley Mitchell as a formidable presence at the plate. Able to play anywhere in the infield, Aubrey possesses a great glove and strong arm."
Why Aubrey chose Texas: "On my visit, I sat in the Texas dugout and watched the current players' practice; the culture, the energy, the competitiveness and the passion they all had to improve their game, and I thought, 'this is me'. I want to be in this type of environment every day because I love to compete. My dream has always been to play on the biggest stage possible, so to join the program of the defending National Champions with this coaching staff, feels surreal, and I'm so thankful for this opportunity. I can't wait to become part of the winning tradition and make my mark."

Stevie South
C/OF | L/L | 5'7 | Magnolia, Texas | Magnolia HS
Stevie South hails from Magnolia, Texas, and attends Magnolia High School and plays travel ball for Hotshots National. As a junior in 2025, South registered a .535 batting average with a .639 on-base percentage and 122 total hits. South earned First-Team All-State status by the Texas Sports Writers and a 15-6A District Offensive MVP nod. During travel ball, South was named a two-time PGF All-American as a junior and sophomore. South has also played on the international stage with USA Softball at the 2023 U-15 WBSC World Cup and 2023 Utsugi Cup Championship, taking home gold in both. South is the daughter of Steven and Amanda South and has a sister, Tyler. Her cousin, Dylan Maberry, played volleyball at LSU and High Point.
What Coach White is saying: "Stevie South was selected and played for the USA U-15 team as a catcher and infielder. A true left-handed thrower and hitter, Stevie adds athleticism and experience to the class of 2026."
Why Stevie chose Texas: "From the moment I stepped on campus, it truly felt like home. I fell in love with the winning culture, the energy, and the relentless drive to be great every single day. Even at camps, I could feel the passion and dedication from the coaches and players -it was different, and it pushed me to want to be better. When I came on my visit, I knew, without a doubt, this was where I belonged. This is a place where I can grow not just as an athlete, but as a person. I'm beyond grateful and excited to call it home."
