No. 2 Women’s Swimming’s Padar breaks team record in 200 free at Texas Invitational

Nikolett Padar's record performance leads a session featuring strong IM, fly and breaststroke results.
AUSTIN, Texas — No. 2 Texas Women's Swimming opened Wednesday finals at the Texas Hall of Fame Swimming Invite with a strong depth across the butterfly, IM, freestyle and breaststroke events at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center.
Texas opened the night with a strong showing in the 100 fly, placing three Longhorns among the top six. Eva Okaro led the group with a runner-up finish in 50.82, followed by Campbell Stoll in fourth at 50.98 and Angie Coe in sixth with 51.53. Four additional Longhorns scored in the D final: Alexa Fulton (53.21), Ella Mongenel (53.67), Emma Kern (53.69) and Sienna Schellenger (53.96).
The 400 IM added another set of high-level swims as Stoll placed sixth in the A final in 4:07.89. Freshman Haley McDonald delivered one of the night's biggest drops, cutting 9.39 seconds from her prelim swim to win the B final in 4:07.55. Avery Collins contributed a D1-qualifying 4:11.98.
Padar's team-record swim headlined the 200 free, where she placed second in 1:42.10, lowering the program mark. Lillian Nesty finished third in 1:42.36, giving Texas two podium spots. In the B final, Campbell Chase (1:44.08) and Inez Miller (1:44.40) added strong scoring performances, while Brooke Adams (1:47.55), Sarah Rodrigues (1:47.60) and Berit Berglund (1:48.66) extended Texas' depth across the heat sheets.
Texas closed the night with its strongest breaststroke performances of the meet, led by Piper Enge, who earned a runner-up finish in 58.13. Coe added eighth in 1:00.21, while Lindsey Hosch (1:02.02), Collins (1:02.39) and Chase Davison (1:03.44) contributed additional scoring.
The Texas Hall of Fame Swimming Invitational will continue Thursday, Nov. 20, with prelims beginning at 10:00 a.m. and finals at 6:00 p.m.
