AUSTIN, Texas – Chart-topping country superstars Big & Rich will headline Longhorn City Limits presented by Hollister on Nov. 28 preceding Texas Football's final regular season home game versus the Texas A&M Aggies in the Cotton Holdings Lone Star Showdown. Joining them on the LBJ Lawn is Austin's own Greyhounds. Admission to Longhorn City Limits is FREE for all fans.
For more than two decades, Big & Rich have blazed their own trail as one of country music's most dynamic, genre-defying duos. The multi-platinum pair, featuring Big Kenny Alphin and John Rich, burst onto the scene with their groundbreaking 2004 album Horse of a Different Color, which went triple-platinum and delivered a string of modern country staples including "Save A Horse (Ride A Cowboy)," "Holy Water," and "Big Time." Their hit "Comin' To Your City" became a national anthem in its own right, serving as the iconic intro theme for ESPN's College GameDay, making them inseparable from the fabric of college football Saturdays.
Across their career, Big & Rich have earned multiple ACM, CMA, and CMT Award nominations, penned hits for some of country music's biggest names, and cultivated a reputation as electrifying performers known for their fusion of country, rock, rap, and gospel influences. Whether headlining international festivals or delivering high-energy television performances, the duo has remained committed to pushing boundaries and celebrating the unifying power of music. Their catalog, including fan favorites like "Lost In This Moment," "Run Away With You," and "Look At You", continues to resonate with audiences of all ages.
Kicking off LCL is Austin's genre-blending powerhouse Greyhounds, the long-running collaboration between keyboardist/vocalist Anthony Farrell and guitarist/vocalist Andrew Trube. Rooted in deep-cut funk, soul, and blues influences, the duo has forged a distinctive sound that Trube describes as "Hall & Oates meets ZZ Top." After a decade touring as core members of JJ Grey & MOFRO, Farrell and Trube shifted their full focus to Greyhounds in 2016, releasing a steady stream of critically acclaimed albums and earning widespread praise for their gritty musicianship and magnetic live performances. With drummer Russell Lee providing the backbeat, Greyhounds have become one of Austin's most respected and innovative musical exports.
"It's been an extraordinary season of Longhorn City Limits, and Longhorn Nation has shown up in full force every step of the way," said Chris Del Conte, Vice President and Lois and Richard Folger Athletics Director. "We're excited to close it out with Big & Rich and Greyhounds as they bring their signature sounds to the Forty Acres for an incredible rivalry gameday."
Greyhounds will kick off LCL at 3 p.m. followed by Big & Rich at approximately 4:30 p.m.
