No. 4 Women’s Basketball improves to 8-0 with 81-63 win over Penn

Five players hit double digits, led by Madsion Booker’s 17 points.
AUSTIN, Texas – Behind double-doubles from Madison Booker and Teya Sidberry, five Longhorns scored in double figures as No. 4 Texas Women's Basketball defeated Penn 81-63 on Sunday at Moody Center.
Madison Booker led the Longhorns (8-0) with a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds, including an 11-for-11 performance at the free-throw line. Kyla Oldacre and Jordan Lee added 14 and 12 points, respectively.
Additionally, Teya Sidberry posted a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds, including seven on the defensive end and five on the offensive glass. Nine of her 13 points came in the fourth quarter.
Breya Cunningham scored the first bucket for the Longhorns, but Texas trailed 15-11 after the opening quarter despite forcing Penn into seven turnovers.
Justice Carlton opened the second quarter with six straight points, sparking an 18-0 Texas run as the Longhorns forced five more turnovers and pushed the lead to 33-18. Texas took a 41-27 advantage into halftime, with Carlton leading all scorers at the break with 10 points. Rori Harmon added four steals, and Madison Booker collected seven rebounds in the first half.
Texas maintained control in the third quarter, extending its lead to 59-45 after adding 18 points and shooting 100 percent at the free-throw line in the frame.
Booker opened the fourth quarter with a 6-of-6 stretch at the line, and the Longhorns used an 8-0 run to put the game away and close out the 81-63 win.
Up next Texas will host North Carolina in the ACC/SEC Challenge on Thursday, Dec. 4 at 6 p.m. CT on ESPN 2.
