No. 14/14/13 Football’s Jackson earns spot on 2025 SEC All-Freshman Team

The true freshman EDGE totaled 15 tackles, 2.0 sacks and four pressures in 12 games.
AUSTIN, Texas – No. 14/14/13 Texas Football true freshman EDGE Lance Jackson was selected to the 2025 SEC All-Freshman Team, the conference office announced Thursday.
Jackson is the second Longhorn to be named to the SEC All-Freshman Team, joining Colin Simmons who earned a spot in 2024.
In his first season on the Forty Acres, Jackson appeared in all 12 games and recorded 15 tackles (five solo), 2.0 sacks for a loss of 10 yards and four pressures. In UT's home opener vs. San Jose State on Sept. 6, Jackson logged two tackles and a quarterback hurry. The Texarkana, Texas, product registered two solo stops, including a sack for a loss of four yards, against Sam Houston on Sept. 20. On the road in Texas' SEC opener at Florida on Oct. 4, Jackson totaled two tackles and followed that performance up with a standout performance in the Longhorns' Allstate Red River Rivalry win over No. 6/6 Oklahoma on Oct. 11. Against the Sooners, Jackson notched two tackles, including a 0.5 sack for a loss of a yard, and a season-high two quarterback hurries. Jackson made a solo tackle in Texas' win over No. 9/11 Vanderbilt on Nov. 1 and was credited with a pressure in the Horns' victory over No. 3/3/3 Texas A&M on Nov. 28.
Up next, Jackson and the Longhorns will travel to Orlando, Fla., to take on No. 18/17/18 Michigan in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl at 2 p.m. CT Wednesday, Dec. 31, at Camping World Stadium. The game will broadcast on ABC.
