Women’s Basketball’s Booker named AP, USBWA National Player of the Week

Madison Booker picks up AP and USBWA National Player of the Week, SEC Player of the Week honors.
AUSTIN, Texas— Junior Madison Booker earned both AP and USBWA National Player of the Week honors as well as SEC Player of the Week, announced today.
For the week, Booker averaged 27.5 points per game, 9.0 rebounds per game and 7.5 assists per game. She made 26 of her 36 field goals to shoot 72.2 percent from the field.
Against UTRGV on Dec. 10, Booker recorded her first collegiate triple-double with 28 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Booker became the fifth player in Texas program history to record a triple-double.
Booker followed up the triple-double performance with 27 points, eight rebounds and five assists to help the Longhorns to an 89-54 win over No. 13 Baylor. It was the fifth ranked win of the season for Texas.
Booker helped Texas go 2-0 on the week and improve to 12-0 for the season. Texas is back in action on Wednesday, Dec. 17 against Northwestern State at Moody Center.
