No. 2 Women’s Swim and Dive’s Sticklen obliterates SEC, conference meet records to highlight podium sweep in 200 butterfly, Estudillo Torres finishes runner-up in platform

The Longhorns added four medals Friday night to push their lead to 303.5 total points heading into the final day.
ATHENS, Ga. – No. 2 Texas Women's Swim and Dive's Emma Sticklen smashed her own SEC record and dismantled the conference meet record in the 200 butterfly to capture gold while Texas swept the podium in the same event Friday night at Gabrielsen Natatorium. The Longhorns increase their lead to 303.5 points over second-place Florida going into the final day.
Texas, who has accumulated 1,157.5 total points, maintains its lead while Tennessee remains in second with 854 total points. Florida (3rd-834), Georgia (4th-538.5), Texas A&M (5th-503), South Carolina (6th-494), LSU (7th-470), Alabama (8th-459), Auburn (9th-407.5), Missouri (10th-288.5), Kentucky (11th-249), Arkansas (12th-210) and Vanderbilt (13th-135) follow.
Texas got underway with a dominant podium sweep in the 200 fly after Emma Sticklen obliterated her own SEC record while simultaneously breaking the previous meet record at 1:49.17. The graduate student from Katy, Texas, also logged the second-fast 200 fly time in NCAA history. Campbell Stoll threw down a personal-best time of 1:51.64 to meet the NCAA 'A' cut standard and finish runner-up. Olivia Bray also tallied a season-best time of 1:52.61 to earn a spot on the podium with her third-place finish.

In the 100 back, Berit Berglund touched the wall in a season-fastest 51.02 to just miss the podium at fourth but add 26 points to UT's points column.
Piper Enge (57.86) and Abby Arens (58.49) finished the 100 breast final fourth and fifth, respectively.
The Texas freshmen diving duo of Taylor Fox and Alejandra Estudillo Torres represented the Horns in the platform finals Friday night. Estudillo Torres clinched her second silver of the week after racking up 318.10 total points, just 9.7 points shy of LSU's Lavenant. Fox placed seventh with 259 total points.

To conclude the night, Texas' 400 medley relay team of Sticklen, Enge, Stoll and Ava Longi was disqualified for an early takeoff.
