Track and Field wins six events at Kirk Baptiste Invitational

Meredith Adams climbs to No. 10 on school's discus all-time list.
HOUSTON, Texas – Texas track and field won six events at the Kirk Baptiste Invitational to open the outdoor season on Thursday afternoon.
Junior Meredith Adams won the first event of the afternoon for Texas with a personal-best throw of 50.91m (167-00) in the women's discus. The throw moved her to No. 10 on the UT All-Time Performer List. Senior Chrystal Herpin finished sixth overall with a throw of 46.28m (151-10). Herpin won the shot put with a throw of 16.31m (53-6.25).
Banks Goodmanson made his UT debut in the men's discus and finished fourth with a throw of 50.67m (166-03).
Sophomore Michael Piñones won the men's shot put with a throw of 18.19m (59-8.25) on his sixth and final throw. He moved from fourth to first on his last attempt. Brandon Schirck was sixth at 16.73m (54-10.75). Schirck added a seventh-place finish in the men's hammer throw with a heave off 52.33m (171-08).
Sophomore Osawese Agbonkonkon won the men's high jump clearing 2.16m (7-1), while Dylan Lineberger was third after clearing 2.11m (6-11) after narrowly missing 2.16m.
The women's pole vault saw Isabella Coscetti finish as the runner-up after clearing 4.02m (13-2.25), improving her outdoor personal best. Sophia Kowalski was third clearing 3.87m (12-8.25). On the men's side, freshman Sam Abati was also the runner-up with a clearance of 5.22m (17-1.50) and senior Connor Boenig was third at 4.92m (16-1.75).
Cooper Tyler opened his outdoor season with an eighth-place finish in the javelin with his throw of 46.90m (153-10).
On the track, Nita Koom-Dadzie won both the women's 100-meter dash with a time of 11.60 and the 200-meter with a wind-aided time of 23.76.
The men were led by Nigusom Knight in the 1500-meter finishing as the runner-up with a time of 3:53.81. Drew Weber was fourth with a time of 3:54.76, Zain Hamdani was seventh (3:55.48), Jackson Braddock was ninth (3:55.69), Hudson Bennett 10th (3:56.67) and Hudson Heikkinen closed it out in 11th in 3:57.67.
The distance men of Evan MacGregor, Logan Patete, Drew Weber and Zain Hamdani combined to run the 4x400-meter relay in 3:23.72.
