AUSTIN, Texas – Texas head coach Matt Scoggin was named the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Division I Women's Diving Coach of the Year for the second-consecutive year, the organization announced Monday. It marks the 12th overall NCAA Coach of the Year honor for Scoggin and his sixth on the women's side.
The awards were determined by a nationwide vote of CSCAA-member Division I head swimming coaches and head diving coaches.
In his 31st season, Scoggin has established Texas as one of the premier diving programs across the country. UT's women's divers led the field and recorded a combined 92 team points at the 2025 NCAA Championships. Under his tutelage, Texas had three divers score in both the 1-meter and 3-meter events, along with two athletes scoring on the platform. Scoggin also guided freshman Alejandra Estudillo Torres to a championship victory in the 3-meter event. Estudillo Torres placed sixth in the 1-meter and 10th in the platform. Sophomore Bayleigh Cranford finished third in the platform and seventh in the 3-meter to take home two All-American honors. Senior Hailey Hernandez finished fifth in the 1-meter to earn All-America recognition.
Scoggin has previously been selected as the Women's Diving Coach of the Year from 1997-99, 2021 and 2024 and has earned the Men's Diving Coach of the Year honor six times in his career – 1999, 2000, 2012, 2014, 2019 and 2021. In addition to his 12 CSCAA Coach of the Year accolades, Scoggin is a two-time U.S. Olympic Committee National Diving Coach of the Year (2009-10).
