Harmon hits 700 career assists while Booker scores 25 points in semifinal victory over LSU.
GREENVILLE, S.C. — The Texas women's basketball team won their 15th straight game to clinch a spot in the SEC Tournament championship game with a 56-49 victory over LSU on Saturday at Bon Secours Arena.
Madison Booker led the Longhorns with 25 points, while Rori Harmon recorded her 700th career assist. Justice Carlton pulled down eight rebounds, and Harmon and Taylor Jones combined for 19 points.
To close out the first period, Texas' defense held LSU to just one made field goal on eight attempts, giving the Longhorns a 13-11 lead.
Madison Booker opened the second period by draining a 3-pointer at the top of the key, followed by guard Rori Harmon recording her 700th career assist on a pass to Kyla Oldacre, who finished with a layup to extend the lead to 18-11 at the 8:06 mark. Taylor Jones sent Texas into halftime with a layup, putting the Longhorns up 29-23. Booker led the team with 18 points, while forward Justice Carlton led Texas on the boards with eight rebounds.
Booker scored the first points of the second half by drawing a foul and converting an and-one free throw, marking her 12th game of the season with 20 or more points. In the final 4:55 of the period, Texas' defense held LSU without a field goal, leading LSU into the fourth period 40-34.
In the final period, Harmon scored eight points, while guard Jordan Lee sealed the victory by sinking a pair of free throws, defeating LSU 56-49 and securing a spot in the championship game of the 2025 SEC Women's Basketball Tournament.
