Longhorns close the final day of Tom Jones Memorial with multiple program all-time performances.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The No. 20/8 Texas Track and Field team was led by junior Kendrick Smallwood's program-record time of 13.26 in the 110-meter hurdles on the final day of the Tom Jones Memorial.
In Saturday's prelims, Smallwood broke his previous program-record time of 13.35 that he set earlier this season at the Texas Relays. The time was the fastest qualifying time of the day. He later won the invite final with a time of 13.30. Both times were wind legal, and Smallwood now holds the three-fastest times in school history.
The men's 4x100-meter relay of Smallwood, Logan Popelka, Almond Small and Xavier Butler ran a season-best time of 39.01, marking the 13th-fastest time in school history. The women's 4x100 relay of Carleta Bernard, Holly Okuku, Kenondra Davis and Nita Koom-Dadzie placed sixth in 43.72.
Popelka added a season-best time in the 400-meter at 45.59 to finish fifth overall, while Nabil Tezkratt was ninth in 46.14. Butler added an 11th-place finish in the 100-meter invite in a personal-best time of 10.15, climbing to No. 6 on the UT all-time performer list.
Senior Chrystal Herpin was eighth in the discus invite with a throw of 52.08m (170-10), while Nina Ndubuisi placed ninth at 50.93m (167-1). Senior Meredith Adams took fifth in the women's discus open with her mark of 50.37m (165-3).

Her effort was one centimeter away from making the UT all-time performer list. Freshman Mackenzie Collins ran a personal best in the 400-meter open with a time of 53.72 and to finish third.
Two of the three Longhorns in the women's 800-meters posted personal bests, led by Grace Kowalski who finished third with a PB time of 2:10.62. Gia Kurp was 10th with a PB time of 2:13.12, and Shanya Luna finished 14th in 2:14.94. On the men's side, Evan MacGregor placed sixth in 1:52.68.
