No. 20/8 Track and Field's Jess breaks her own school record in the 10K

Six Longhorns climb in UT's all-time performer list in California.
AZUSA, Calif. – Eva Jess of the No. 20/8 Texas track and field program broke her own 10,000-meter school record at the distance carnival at the Bryan Clay Invitational.
Six Longhorns broke into the UT all-time performer list during the three-day distance events, led by Jess and her third program record of the season. Jess broke her own 10K record a year after setting it at the same meet in California by over four seconds. Jess finished fourth overall with a time of 32:50.28 and now holds the two-fastest times in school history.
The men's distance team was led by Rodger Rivera in the 5,000-meters after posting an outdoor personal-best time of 13:41.49. The time moved Rivera to No. 3 on the UT all-time performer list. Fellow senior Nigusom Knight also recorded a personal best in the 5K with a time of 14:10.78.
The women were led by Elizabeth Pickett who also moved up the UT all-time performer list with her personal-best time of 15:57.90. Her time moved her to No. 6 on the all-time list and was the 11th-fastest time in UT history. Freshman Sydni Wilkins (16:16.25) and sophomores Melody Espinoza (16:36.35) and Marissa Espinoza (16:41.85) also recorded personal bests in the 5K.
The final three Longhorns to move on the UT all-time list were Aishling Callanan, Kyra Pretre and Brighton Mooney all in the women's 3000-meter steeplechase. Callanan moved to No. 3 on the performer list with a time of 10:22.21 to finish 15th overall. Pretre moved to No. 7 with a time of 10:33.58 and Money climbed to No. 10 with a personal-best time of 10:41.34.
The Longhorns return home for a two-day home meet when they host the Texas Invitiational on April 24-25.
