Texas to look for 16th consecutive home victory this season on Wednesday night
AUSTIN, Texas – Having just earned its 10th conference victory over the weekend, The University of Texas softball program will break from SEC action to host Texas State in a non-conference, mid-week matchup at 6 p.m. CT on Wednesday, April 9.
TELEVISION: Alex Loeb (play by play) and Cat Osterman (analyst) will call Wednesday's action on the SEC Network.

SERIES HISTORY:
- A win by Texas over Texas State on Wednesday night would give the Longhorns their 30th all-time win over the Bobcats in games played in Austin.
- UT will enter the contest with a 29-8 all-time record against TXST on the Forty Acres.
- A win would also give Texas a four-game winning streak in the series, which would be the longest by the Longhorns since winning six straight from April 3, 2019 to March 23, 2022.
- A win by the Longhorns would give seventh-year head coach Mike White his 10th win over Texas State since taking over at the helm of the Texas softball program prior to the 2019 campaign.
- White, currently, has a 9-1 all-time record against the Bobcats since arriving on the Forty Acres.
- Since dropping a series-long three consecutive games to Texas State during the 2017 season, Texas has rebounded with a 11-2 record over its last 13 games against the Bobcats.
- By appearing in Wednesday's game, it will mark the seventh time Mia Scott has played against Texas State, the most by a Longhorn since Alyssa Washington concluded her career having faced the Bobcats eight different times.
LEADING OFF:
- With a win over Texas State on Wednesday night, Texas would move to 38-3 on the season, which would tie the 2006 team for the best start to a season through 41 games.
- If Reese Atwood successfully reaches base against the Bobcats and extends her on-base streak to 22 consecutive games played, it would tie for the eighth-longest streak – in terms of consecutive games – in program record.
- Atwood's current 21-game on-base streak is two games shy of tying Joley Mitchell's 23 games for the longest by a Longhorn softball student-athlete this season.
- A multi-hit performance by Ashton Maloney would give the redshirt-junior her 20th multiple hit game this season.
- It would also mark the eighth consecutive completed season that at least one Longhorn softball student-athlete has recorded 20-or-more multi-hit games in a season.
- Janae Jefferson had 13 multiple hit contests in 27 games prior to the 2020 season being halted in early March.
- It would also mark the eighth consecutive completed season that at least one Longhorn softball student-athlete has recorded 20-or-more multi-hit games in a season.
- If Reese Atwood drives in a run throughout Wednesday's contest, she'll join Katie Stewart as the only student-athletes in program history to have multiple seasons with 53-or-more RBI.
- With a pair of home runs against Texas State, Reese Atwood would join Taylor Hoagland (58) as the only student-athletes in program history with 50-or-more career home runs.
- A start by Mia Scott on Wednesday evening would be the 228th career start for the four-year senior, tying Wynter Turner (2002-05) for ninth on the program's career games started list.
