Women’s Tennis tabbed No. 13 in final ITA team rankings

The Longhorns have finished each of the last eight years in the Top 15 of the final ITA ratings.
Austin – The University of Texas Women's Tennis team was No. 13 in the final Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings of the 2025 season released Wednesday. It marks the eighth consecutive year the Longhorns have finished in the top 15 of the final ITA national poll.
Texas earned a No. 6 ranking in 2018, No. 9 in 2019 and No. 4 in 2020. The Longhorns were tabbed No. 1 in both 2021 and 2022 when they claimed back-to-back NCAA team National Championships, and then were No. 7 in 2023, and No. 11 in 2024.
Despite a season where the team was rarely equipped with its full lineup, Texas concluded the 2024-25 season with an 18-11 overall record, reached the NCAA Sweet 16 for the fifth-straight year, and advanced to the quarterfinals of the ITA National Indoor Championships for the fifth-straight time.
The Longhorns came within a few points of reaching the Elite Eight after nearly winning at No. 3 Michigan in the round of 16 and finished the season winning eight of their last 10 down the stretch, including a win over eventual National Champion No. 1 Georgia. They also recorded victories over No. 3 Oklahoma State, No. 12 Oklahoma, No. 19 NC State and twice over South Carolina when it was ranked No. 21 and 23. Five of their losses were by a 4-3 score, including to No. 3 Michigan, No. 6 Texas A&M, No. 11 Auburn, No. 17 USC and No. 61 Florida.
In the individual rankings, Texas closed with five ranked singles players and two pairs in doubles, all in the top 80. In singles, freshman Carmen Herea was No. 37, senior Sabina Zeyanlova was No. 66, and freshman Eszter Meri was No. 68, freshman Ariana Anazagasty-Pursoo was No. 75, and freshman Aston Bowers was No. 77. Bowers and Anazagasty-Pursoo were then No. 26 in doubles, while freshmen Charlotte Kempenaers-Pocz and Salma Drugdova were No. 75.
