Pop punk icons will be joined by Van Full of Nuns prior to Texas-Sam Houston game; postgame silent disco returns for the first time in 2025
AUSTIN, TEXAS – Texas Athletics is proud to announce pop punk pioneers Bowling For Soup will headline Longhorn City Limits presented by Hollister on Saturday, September 20 prior to Texas Football's non-conference game versus the Sam Houston Bearkats. Located on the LBJ Lawn, Van Full of Nuns will kick off LCL at 3:30 p.m. Admission is FREE for Longhorn City Limits concerts all season long.
One of the greatest pop punk bands in history, Bowling For Soup (BFS) have spent the last 30 years delivering massive singalongs, off-the-cuff comedy, and high-energy shows that feel as personal as a backyard hangout. Formed in Wichita Falls, TX and later based in Denton, BFS broke out internationally in 2000 before going on to release crowd favorites like the Grammy-nominated "Girl All The Bad Guys Want," "1985," "Punk Rock 101," and "High School Never Ends." Their music has also become part of pop culture through soundtracks and TV themes, including Jimmy Neutron and Phineas and Ferb. With sold-out tours across the U.S., U.K., and Australia, the band continues to prove why they're one of the most entertaining live acts in the world.
In 2024, Bowling For Soup celebrated 30 years together, headlined their biggest-ever international tour, and marked 20 years of their landmark album A Hangover You Don't Deserve. Looking ahead, they are set to release multiple new projects, including Stoked On Trent, a live acoustic album, and a live recording from their sold-out Manchester show. With Jaret Reddick, Gary Wiseman, and Rob Felicetti leading the charge, Bowling For Soup remain as fun, unpredictable, and joyfully nostalgic as ever, still proving that pop punk is alive, well, and here to party.
Prior to that, Van Full of Nuns will take the stage at 3:30 p.m. Formed in 2019, they bring the high-energy nostalgia of pop-punk and emo to the stage, delivering explosive shows packed with both fan-favorite covers and their own hard-hitting originals. The self-proclaimed "Nuns" have built a loyal following with their interactive, off-the-rails live performances, complete with inflatable pizzas, crowd singalongs, and plenty of chaos. Along the way, they've shared the stage with pop-punk legends including Bowling For Soup, Taking Back Sunday, New Found Glory, and Motion City Soundtrack, all while championing the scene through their Pop Punk Nite! events and Pop Punk's Not Dead Fest.
"We are thrilled to bring even more energy to Longhorn City Limits this season with Bowling For Soup and Van Full of Nuns," said Chris Del Conte, Vice President and Folger Family Athletics Director. "From pop punk anthems everyone knows by heart to their high-energy live shows, this lineup is going to make September 20 on the LBJ Lawn an unforgettable part of Texas Football gameday."
