Texas’ SEC opener at Florida on Saturday, Oct. 4., will kick off at 2:30 p.m. CT on either ABC or ESPN.
AUSTIN, Texas – No. 10/7 Texas Football's (3-1) Week 6 contest and SEC opener at Florida (1-3) on Saturday, Oct. 4, will kick off at 2:30 p.m. CT from inside Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in Gainesville, Fla. The game will broadcast on either ABC or ESPN.
The SEC office issues weekly updates to provide TV networks no later than six days prior to any game.
With both teams fresh off a bye week, Texas will be making its second-ever trip to Gainesville, Fla., and first since 1940 to take on the Gators. The Longhorns lead the all-time series, 3-0-1. In their first meeting as SEC members in 2024, Texas claimed a 49-17 win at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium on Nov. 9, 2024. In their first-ever meeting in Austin in 1924, the game finished in a 7-7 tie. The two teams clashed again at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium with UT recording a 12-0 victory. In the 1940 matchup in Gainesville, Texas cruised to a 26-0 win over the Gators.
The Longhorns are coming off a 55-0 home win over Sam Houston on Sept. 20. Texas has won 11 of its last 12 true road games, including nine-straight conference road wins dating back to the 2022 season.
