Football’s 2026-29 SEC opponents announced

The SEC has released Texas’ conference opponents and sites through the 2029 season.
AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Football's Southeastern Conference (SEC) opponents and sites through the 2029 season were announced on a special show that aired on SEC Network and ESPN2 Tuesday night.
Texas' three annual opponents for those years will be Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas A&M.
Beginning in 2026, and as approved by the membership, the Southeastern Conference will implement a nine-game conference schedule, along with one annual non-conference opponent from the ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, or Notre Dame. Each school will play every other SEC school at least once every two years, and every opponent home and away over four years. The dates for Texas' 2026 schedule will be released in October.
In 2026, the Longhorns will host Arkansas and serve as the away team in the annual Allstate Red River Rivalry vs. Oklahoma at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas. Texas will also travel to Texas A&M for the annual Cotton Holdings Lone Star Showdown against the Aggies. The Longhorns will additionally host Florida, Ole Miss and Mississippi State at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium and visit LSU, Missouri and Tennessee.
Texas' 2027 conference slate features an away game at Arkansas, a home game vs. Texas A&M in the Cotton Holdings Lone Star Showdown, and the neutral site game for the Allstate Red River Rivalry vs. Oklahoma in Dallas where the Longhorns will serve as the home team. Texas also welcomes Auburn, Georgia and Kentucky to DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium, while having road games at Alabama, South Carolina and Vanderbilt.
The 2028 schedule features a home game vs. Arkansas, a road contest at Texas A&M in the Cotton Holdings Lone Star Showdown, and the neutral site contest vs. Oklahoma in the Allstate Red River Rivalry in Dallas with Texas serving as the away team. The Longhorns will host LSU, Missouri and Tennessee for home games at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium with away contests at Florida, Ole Miss and Mississippi State.
In 2029, Texas will hit the road to Arkansas, host Texas A&M in the Cotton Holdings Lone Star Showdown and serve as the away team for the Allstate Red River Rivalry vs. Oklahoma in Dallas. The Longhorns will also welcome Alabama, South Carolina and Vanderbilt to DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium and travel to Auburn, Georgia and Kentucky.
