No. 2 Women’s Basketball wins SEC opener at Missouri, 89-71

Madison Booker leads Texas with 28 points and 10 rebounds.
COLUMBIA, Mo. – No. 2 Texas women's basketball forced 30 turnovers in their SEC opening win at Missouri 89-71 on Thursday. The Longhorns 16-0 record is their best start since they started 16-0 in the 2015-16 season.
Madison Booker scored 28 points and Jordan Lee added 23 points. Rori Harmon tallied a career-high eight steals and Ashton Judd recorded a season-high 12 points.
Missouri got out to a 14-2 lead in the opening quarter, but the Longhorns used an 11-2 run and got within three at 19-16 on a 3-pointer by Madison Booker.
Booker and Harmon each recorded three steals in the first half and Texas forced Missouri into 15 first half turnovers. Kyla Oldacre got a put-back for a score in the closing second of the first half to put Texas up 41-38 at halftime.
The Longhorns outscored Missouri 27-18 in the third quarter as they used an 11-0 run to take a 64-49 lead on a pull-up jumper by Jordan Lee and led 68-56 at the end of the third quarter. Booker scored seven points for Texas as she made three of her four shots in the quarter.
Booker continued her scoring in the final quarter with 10 points and Lee added a pair of 3-pointers. Texas forced eight turnovers in the final period and outscored Missouri 21-15.
Up next the Longhorns host No. 15 Ole Miss on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. CT at Moody Center.

· Madison Booker recorded her fifth double-double of the season with 28 points and 10 rebounds. Booker added four steals and three assists.
· Booker recorded her 34th career game with 20 or more points.
· Jordan Lee recorded her third game of the season scoring 20 or more points.
· Lee now has 249 points this season through 16 games after scoring 227 points in her entire freshman season. Lee recorded a season-high five 3-pointers in the game.
· The Longhorns grabbed 21 offensive rebounds and had a 24-8 advantage in second chance points.
· Texas outscored Missouri 36-15 in points off turnovers.
· The Longhorns reserve players recorded 20 points in the game led by Judd with 12 points off the bench.
