Women’s Basketball’s Booker and Harmon named to Wooden Award Midseason Top-25 Watch List

Texas duo on watch list for national player of the year award.
LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Two-time First Team All-American and 2025 SEC Player of the Year Madison Booker and three-time All-America honorable mention honoree Rori Harmon have been named to the John R. Wooden Award Midseason Top-25 Watch List, the Los Angeles Athletic Club announced on Wednesday.
Booker was named a Wooden Award All-American and among the five finalists for the Wooden Award following the 2024-25 season. Harmon makes her third appearance on the Wooden Award watch list. The players on this list are considered strong candidates for the 2026 John R. Wooden Award Women's Player of the Year.
Madison Booker, the Preseason SEC Player of the Year is averaging career bests of 19.1 points per game, 7.4 rebounds per game and shooting 52 percent from the field on the season. Booker has scored 20 or more points in six games this season and has reached double figures in scoring in 16 of her 17 games. Booker became the fourth player in Texas program history to record a triple-double earlier this season with 28 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds in the Texas win over UTRGV. Booker is climbing the Texas career scoring list and currently ranks No. 17 with 1,556 career points.
Rori Harmon leads the country in assist to turnover ratio with 130 assists and 24 turnovers on the season. Harmon broke the Texas 40-year old career assists record of 776 assists and now has 861 assists. Harmon ranks No. 2 on the Texas career steals list and is 15 steals from breaking that record. Harmon has climbed the Texas career scoring list and ranks No. 24 with 1,441 points. Harmon is also closing in on 600 career rebounds as she has 587. This season Harmon has six games with double digit assists and is shooting 51.6 percent from the field.
The Longhorns are 17-0 on the season with six wins over ranked opponents including a pair of wins over teams currently ranked in the top-five in the AP poll in No. 3 South Carolina and No. 4 UCLA.
