ST ANDREWS, Scotland— The No. 10 Texas Women's Golf team earned the No. 1 seed and will play the University of St Andrews in the championship match as stroke play concluded today at the St Andrews Links Collegiate. Texas senior Farah O'Keefe and Washington's Hannah Ounap earned co-medalist honors. They were the only two women's players that finished the stroke play portion of the tournament under par.
O'Keefe finished 36 holes at 2-under. O'Keefe earns her seventh career victory, which moves her into second on the Texas women's golf career wins list. She moves past Sherri Steinhauer, who had six wins and now trails Michiko Hattori, who won 10 tournaments in her Longhorn career.
The wind in Scotland picked up today making the conditions extremely difficult. The Longhorns shot 13 strokes better than any other team on the course today. Texas finished 36 holes of stroke play at 15-over. St Andrews earned the second position at 38-over with a three-stroke lead over Washington at 41-over. Penn finished fourth at 52-over.
Five of the six Texas players finished in the top-10 and all six finished in the top-15. Charlotte Naughton finished in third-place in her first collegiate tournament. Selina Liao (5), Lauren Kim (6), Isla McDonald-O'Brien (T7), and Anastasia Hekkonen (T15) also represented the Longhorns.
