No. 6 Beach Volleyball takes down No. 9 Cal and No. 7 LMU at Outrigger Duke Kahanamoku Beach Classic

Longhorns earn pair of top-10 wins on Friday.
HONOLULU – No. 6 Texas Beach Volleyball defeated No. 9 Cal and No. 7 LMU on the second day of the Outrigger Duke Kahanamoku Beach Classic on Friday at Queen's Beach.
Texas opened the first dual with a 2-0 (21-14, 21-12) win from Anna Pavelkova and Kacka Pavelkova on Court 2. After Cal picked up a point to even the dual, the Longhorns responded with victories from Macey Butler and Noa Sonneville on Court 5 (23-21, 21-12) and Emma Grace Robertson and Savannah Thomas on Court 3 (21-15, 15-21, 15-11) to secure the team win.
Against LMU, Karin Zolnercikova and Lily Davis opened the dual with a 21-14, 21-16 victory on Court 4. Robertson and Thomas followed with a 21-15, 21-13 win on Court 3 to give Texas a 2-0 lead. LMU answered with back-to-back victories to even the match and force a deciding point.
On Court 5, Butler and Sonneville pushed the dual to a third set and delivered the clincher. After splitting the first two sets, the pair secured the comeback with a 21-19 win in the decisive frame to seal the dual for Texas.
The Longhorns continue their campaign with two top-5 matchups at the Outrigger Duke Kahanamoku Beach Classic on Saturday. Texas is set to face No. 2 Stanford at 12:30 p.m. CT and No. 4 USC at 6:45 p.m. CT.
