Farah O’Keefe ties program record for low 18 round score at 64.
HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – The No. 9 Texas Women's Golf team posted 5-under 279 on Monday to sit at first place after the opening day of the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate at Long Cove Club.
Junior Farah' O'Keefe carded 7-under 64, tying program record for low 18 round score. O'Keefe's round one score also tied the tournament course record.
Texas was the sole school that finished round one under par. The Longhorns are eight shots ahead of second place Florida State. During the opening round, Texas counted scores from O'Keefe (7-under 64), Kim (3-under 68), Liao (1-over 72), and Hsu (4-over 75).
O'Keefe is in sole possession of first place while Kim is sitting at second place on the individual leaderboard. Texas totaled 17 birdies in round one, with O'Keefe recording seven and Kim registering five.
The Longhorns will continue their campaign at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate at 10:10 a.m. CT on hole 10.
The Lineup
Farah O'Keefe posted 7-under 64 on Monday and at first place in the individual leaderboard. O'Keefe recorded seven birdies during her opening round. O'Keefe birdied holes 1, 3 and 5 on the front and 10, 11, 14 and 18 on the back.
Lauren Kim registered 3-under 68 during round one and is at second place in the individual leaderboard. Kim carded five birdies on Monday.
Selina Liao recorded 1-over 72 for the first round and is T15 in the individual leaderboard. Liao birdied hole nine in round one.
Cindy Hsu carded 4-over 75 for round one and is T38 in the individual leaderboard. Hsu registered four birdies on Monday.
Angela Heo recorded 6-over 77 in the first round and is T58 in the individual leaderboard.
