No. 4 Women's Basketball rolls past Alabama 83-60 to advance to semifinals of the SEC Tournament

AUSTIN, Texas – The No. 4 Texas Women's Basketball team dominated No. 11 seed Alabama in an 80-63 win as they advanced to the semifinals of the SEC Tournament. The Longhorns (29-3) are slated to face No. 7 seed Ole Miss. The Longhorns sank nine three-pointers with a 50 percent (9-for-18) shooting percentage. Tonight is the third time this season Texas has made nine or more threes.
Texas saw four players recording double digits, headlined by Madison Booker, who registered 11 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists in 18 minutes of play. This marks Booker's sixth double-double of the season, her career 16th. Jordan Lee scored 16 points, along with five rebounds and four assists tonight. Lee now has scored double digits the 25th time this season.
Jordan Lee put up 11 points along with two rebounds in the first quarter. Madison Booker recorded six rebounds and four assists in the opening quarter for the Longhorns.
Texas only allowed Alabama to score nine points in the second quarter, its 23rd time this season they have held an opponent to single digits in a quarter. The Longhorns concluded the half scoring a combined 52 points, while only allowing the Crimson Tides to score 19. Sophomore Bryanna Preston registered nine points. Preston finished the night with 13. In addition, Harmon sank back-to-back 3-point jump shots to extend the lead to 25 points at the 6:21 mark of the second quarter.
The Longhorns sealed the win in the second half with a 10-point effort from Aaliyah Crump. Crump has now scored ten or more points in a game the 11th time this season. Ashton Judd added six points while going 3-for-4 on field goal attempts in the second half.
Up next the Longhorns will face off against No. 7 seed Ole Miss in the semifinals of the SEC Tournament on Saturday. Tip-off is scheduled at 6:00 p.m. CT on ESPN 2.
