GREENVILLE, S.C. – Madison Booker put up career-high 31 points along with 11 rebounds and five assists as the No. 4 Texas Women's Basketball team took down No. 7 seed Ole Miss, 85-68, to advance to the SEC Tournament championship game.
Booker became the first player this century with at least 30 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists in a women's SEC tournament game.
Along with Booker, two other Longhorns registered double digits in scoring. Kyla Oldacre notched 19 points with eight rebounds while Jordan Lee added 14 points, two rebounds, and three assists in the win. Texas dominated the paint with 44 points and grabbed 35 rebounds.
The Longhorns improved to 30-3 for the season, their third straight season with 30 or more wins.
Texas opened the first quarter with Booker scoring eight points, along with Breya Cunningham who notched in five point and three rebounds. The Longhorns started a 12-0 rally over four minutes in the second quarter to extend the lead over the Rebels to 16. The first half ended with Texas holding a 10-point lead.
The Longhorns saw Booker (19) and Oldacre (14) put up a combined 33 points in the second half as they took the win over the Rebels. Booker went 8-for-11 in the stretch and added seven rebounds. Oldacre shot perfect on the free throw line (10-for-10) and grabbed six rebounds.
Up next the Longhorns will compete against No. 1 seed South Carolina in the championship of the SEC Tournament on Sunday. Tip-off is slated at 2:00 p.m. CT on ESPN.
