Senior RHP Citlaly Gutierrez had a season-high seven strikeouts.
AUSTIN, Texas – No. 4 Texas Softball fell to No. 17 Oklahoma State, 5-0, Wednesday night at McCombs Field.
Texas moves to 35-8 overall, 18-4 at home and 15-8 against ranked opponents. Texas' 13 wins vs. Quad 1 RPI opponents tie with Oklahoma for the most in the nation.
Senior RHP Citlaly Gutierrez (7-2) recorded a season-high seven strikeouts in the circle for the Horns, holding the Cowgirls scoreless until the top of the sixth inning. Gutierrez gave up five earned runs on five hits in the game's final two innings. The Stamford, Texas, native retired the first six batters she faced on the night and tallied three 1-2-3 innings. Gutierrez did not give up a walk or hit a batter across seven innings.
The Longhorns were held to just two hits. Senior catcher Reese Atwood and junior center fielder Kayden Henry each had base hits to center field.
