Senior Sebastian Gorzny earned his first All-America honors in singles after having previously been a doubles All-American in 2024.
Austin – Texas Men's Tennis senior Sebastian Gorzny officially received All-America honors from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) on Tuesday. For Gorzny, it is his first career All-America accolade in singles after having previously earned it in doubles in 2024.
It marks the eighth-straight year the Longhorns have had at least one All-American, and in that span under head coach Bruce Berque, Texas has now had a total of 26 honors by 11 different players. Additionally, it marks the fourth-straight year a UT player has collected them in singles.
The criteria for ITA All-America singles honors include winning the ITA All-American Championship, advancing to the round of 16 at the NCAA Individual Championships, or finishing in the top 20 of the final ITA Singles Rankings. All-America recognition is awarded to doubles teams who win the ITA All-American Championship, reach the NCAA Championship quarterfinals, or finish in the top 10 in the final ITA National Doubles Rankings.
This season, Gorzny led Texas to an NCAA National Runner-Up finish, a second-straight Final Four, the program's first ITA Indoors National Championship, and back-to-back sweeps of the SEC regular season and tournament titles.
He finished ranked No. 2 in singles, which is the fourth-straight year Texas has had a top-two player, and he was the Most Outstanding Player of the ITA National Indoor Championships, and the Most Valuable Player of the SEC Championship, while also being named First Team All-SEC for the second-straight year.
Gorzny compiled a 26-8 overall record in singles, a 20-6 mark in dual matches, all at No. 1, and was 7-2 in the SEC. As part of that, he registered seven top-15 victories and 13 top-50 wins. He was also second on the team in overall clinches with seven.
