Texas placed five on the All-SEC First Team.
AUSTIN, Texas – First-team honorees Cam Coleman (WR), Trevor Goosby (OL), Colin Simmons (DL), Rasheem Biles (LB) and Ryan Niblett (RS) headline 11 Texas Football standouts who were named to the Preseason All-SEC Team at the 2026 SEC Media Days, the conference office announced Friday.
Texas received the second-most votes to win the 2026 SEC Championship on Dec. 5 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. Georgia was predicted to be Texas' opponent in a rematch of the 2024 SEC Championship. The Bulldogs led the way with 88 votes, followed by Texas (57), Ole Miss (6), Texas A&M (5), Alabama (3), Oklahoma (2), LSU (2) and Kentucky (1).
Junior wide receiver Cam Coleman, junior offensive lineman Trevor Goosby, junior EDGE Colin Simmons, senior linebacker Rasheem Biles and junior return specialist Ryan Niblett were selected to the Preseason All-SEC First Team. Junior quarterback Arch Manning, Niblett (all-purpose) and junior deep snapper Trey Dubuc were placed on the Preseason All-SEC Second Team. Junior running back Hollywood Smothers, junior wide receiver Ryan Wingo, junior offensive lineman Brandon Baker and senior defensive back Jelani McDonald were recognized on the Preseason All-SEC Third Team.
It marks the second-consecutive year Goosby, Manning, Simmons and Wingo garnered Preseason All-SEC honors. Last year, Simmons was named to the Preseason All-SEC First Team, while Wingo was selected to the Second Team, and Goosby and Manning earned spots on the Third Team. Goosby and Simmons received postseason All-SEC First-Team honors in 2025, while Wingo and Niblett landed on the All-SEC Second Team.
Texas opens the 2026 season vs. Texas State at 2:30 p.m. CT Saturday, Sept. 5, at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. The game will broadcast on ESPN.
