No. 5/4 Football’s Coleman, Wingo named to Biletnikoff Award watch list

The Biletnikoff Award recognizes the college football season's outstanding FBS receiver, regardless of position.
AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Football junior wide receivers Cam Coleman and Ryan Wingo were named to the preseason watch list for the Biletnikoff Award, the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation announced Wednesday. The Biletnikoff Award recognizes the college football season's outstanding FBS receiver, regardless of position.
Former Longhorn wide receiver Jordan Shipley was a finalist for the award in 2009. Texas has two players on the preseason watch list for the award for the first time since 2022 when former wide receivers Xavier Worthy and Isaiah Neyor were tabbed to the watch list. Last year, former UT tight end Jack Endries was selected to the award's preseason watch list.
It marks the second-consecutive year Coleman has earned a spot on the preseason watch list for the award, while Wingo is a first-time selection.
In addition to the Biletnikoff Award preseason watch list, Coleman has also earned a spot on the Walter Camp Player of the Year Award and Maxwell Award watch lists. Coleman was tabbed to Walter Camp's All-America Preseason First Team and the SEC's Preseason First Team.
Coleman, a first-year player at Texas, transferred to Texas from Auburn in spring 2026. Coleman appeared in 23 career games with 22 starts across two seasons at Auburn in 2024-25. As a sophomore in 2025, Coleman started all 12 games and led the Tigers with 708 receiving yards on 56 receptions and five touchdowns. He averaged 12.6 yards per catch and 59 receiving yards per contest. Coleman pulled in seven receptions for 77 yards (11 ypc) against Ball State on Sept. 6 and caught two passes for 49 yards (24.5 ypc) and a score against South Alabama on Sept. 13. The Phenix City, Ala., product gathered three receptions for 88 yards (29.3 ypc) and a touchdown at Oklahoma on Sept. 20. He posted six receptions for 107 yards (18 ypc) vs. Missouri on Oct. 18. Coleman had a career game at Vanderbilt on Nov. 8, recording career highs in receptions with 10 and receiving yards with 143 (14.3 avg) to go along with a touchdown. In the penultimate game of the 2025 season, Coleman grabbed five passes for 65 yards (13 ypc) and a touchdown vs. Mercer on Nov. 22. In the Iron Bowl vs. Alabama on Nov. 29, he snared four receptions for 26 yards (6.5 ypc).
Wingo was selected to the All-SEC Preseason Third Team. Wingo is a third-year player who has seen action in 29 career games with 15 starts. The St. Louis native was a Coaches' All-SEC Second Team selection in 2025. As a sophomore in 2025, Wingo started in all 13 games and led Texas with 54 receptions for 834 yards (15.4 ypc) and seven touchdowns, averaging 64.2 yards per game. Wingo had five games with 70+ receiving yards, including a career-high 184-yard performance at Mississippi State on Oct. 25, 2025. Wingo snared four catches for 93 yards (23.2 ypc) and a career-best two touchdowns against Sam Houston on Sept. 20. Wingo also charted a 32-yard carry, manufacturing 125 yards of total offense vs. the Bearkats. On the road at Florida on Oct. 4, Wingo caught four passes for 73 yards and a score, including a 38-yard receiving touchdown. At the Allstate Red River Rivalry vs. No. 6/6 Oklahoma, Wingo led the Horns with five receptions that totaled 35 receiving yards. On the road at Mississippi State on Oct. 25, Wingo gathered five receptions for a career-high 184 yards, including a then-season-long 62-yard reception. Wingo followed that performance with a two-catch, 89-yard outing with a touchdown vs. No. 9/11 Vanderbilt on Nov. 1. At No. 5/5 Georgia on Nov. 15, Wingo caught nine passes for 62 yards and a touchdown. In Texas' second-to-last regular season game of the year vs. Arkansas on Nov. 22, Wingo collected six receptions for 81 yards. In the Cotton Holdings Lone Star Showdown vs. No. 3/3 Texas A&M on Nov. 28, Wingo hauled in four receptions for 34 yards and pulled in a 29-yard touchdown from QB Arch Manning. Wingo finished the season with a four-reception, 64-yard effort against No. 18/17/18 Michigan in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl on Dec. 31 in Orlando, Fla.
The Biletnikoff Award's semifinalists, three finalists, and award recipient are selected by the Biletnikoff Award National Selection Committee, a group of 625 prominent college football journalists, commentators, announcers, Biletnikoff Award winners, and other former receivers. Coleman, Wingo and the Longhorns open the 2026 season vs. Texas State at 2:30 p.m. CT Saturday, Sept. 5, at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. The game will broadcast on ESPN.
