Eleven from No. 5/4 Football earn preseason Coaches All-SEC honors

Brandon Baker, Rasheem Biles, Cam Coleman, Trey Dubuc, Trevor Goosby, Arch Manning, Jelani McDonald, Ryan Niblett, Colin Simmons, Hollywood Smothers and Ryan Wingo earned preseason All-SEC praise.
AUSTIN, Texas – First-team honorees Rasheem Biles (LB), Cam Coleman (WR), Trevor Goosby (OL), Ryan Niblett (RS) and Colin Simmons (EDGE) headline 11 Texas Football standouts who earned 2026 Preseason Coaches All-SEC distinction, the league office announced Wednesday afternoon.
Texas and Georgia placed a league-leading 11 players on the 2026 Preseason Coaches All-SEC Team. Texas and LSU each had a conference-best five First-Team All-SEC representatives.
QB Arch Manning was selected to the second team, while OL Brandon Baker, LS Trey Dubuc, WR/RB Ryan Niblett (all-purpose), DB Jelani McDonald, RB Hollywood Smothers and WR Ryan Wingo were placed on the third team. Niblett is one of five SEC players to earn recognition at multiple positions.
It marks the second-straight year Simmons and Goosby received preseason All-SEC nods. Last year, Simmons was tabbed to the preseason first team and Goosby was placed on the third team. Following the 2025 regular season, Goosby and Simmons earned spots on the All-SEC Coaches First Team, while Wingo and Niblett were selected to the second team.
Texas opens the 2026 season vs. Texas State at 2:30 p.m. CT Saturday, Sept. 5, at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. The game will broadcast on ESPN.
