Boardman and Derivaux each record pair of individual victories in Friday’s season-opening meet.
AUSTIN, Texas — Freshmen Mena Boardman and Audrey Derivaux each won a pair of individual events to highlight Friday's action in The University of Texas Women's Swimming and Diving Sam Kendricks Dust Off Your Boots Invitational at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center. This meet marked the first official competition of the 2026-27 season for the No. 3 Longhorns.
Boardman claimed wins in the 50 free (23.12) and the 100 fly (53.11). Derivaux posted a pair of NCAA-qualifying times while earning victories in the 200 fly (1:55.91) and the 200 back (1:54.41). Freshman Sydney Schoeck claimed the win in the 1000 free (9:46.36), and her time ranks No. 9 on UT's all-time top performers list.
Senior Erin Gemmell recorded an NCAA-qualifying time in the 200 free (1:45.36), and junior Piper Enge registered an NCAA-qualifying time in the 100 breast (1:00.28). Junior Lillie Nesty had a solid meet with an NCAA-qualifying time in the 200 back (1:54.72), a second-place finish in the 200 free (1:45.85) and swam the leadoff leg on the winning 3x100 free relay. Sophomore Inez Miller added a victory in the 500 free (4:49.28).
The Longhorns return to the pool on Friday, Oct. 9, when they travel to Bloomington, Ind., to compete in a tri-meet against Northwestern and host Indiana.
Meet Highlights
- The 'A' team quartet of senior Emma Kern, junior Piper Enge, senior Campbell Stoll and sophomore Eva Okaro won the 200 medley relay in a time of 1:38.19.
- Freshman Sydney Schoeck claimed a victory in the 1000 free (9:46.36), and junior Kate Hurst placed second (9:50.35). Shoeck's time ranks No. 9 on UT's all-time top performers list.
- Senior Erin Gemmell won the 200 free with an NCAA-qualifying time of 1:45.36, while junior Lillie Nesty took second (1:45.85) and sophomore Nikolett Padar placed third (1:45.89).
- Sophomore Sarah Rodrigues claimed a victory in the 100 back (53.60).
- Enge won the 100 breast in an NCAA-qualifying time of 1:00.28.
- Freshman Audrey Derivaux claimed a victory in the 200 fly in an NCAA-qualifying time of 1:55.91.
- Freshman Mena Boardman won the 50 free (23.12), and senior Lucy Mehraban placed second (23.12).
- Padar claimed victory in the 100 free (49.30).
- Derivaux won the 200 back in an NCAA-qualifying time of 1:54.41, while Nesty took second in an NCAA-qualifying time of 1:54.72.
- Enge claimed victory in the 200 breast (2:15.07).
- Sophomore Inez Miller won the 500 free (4:49.28), and Schoeck finished second (4:52.03).
- Boardman claimed victory in the 100 fly (53.11), and Okaro took second (53.79).
- Junior Campbell Chase won the 200 IM (2:01.34).
- The Texas 'B' trio of Nesty, Derivaux and Mehraban claimed victory in the 3x100 free relay in a time of 2:28.58.
- In intrasquad diving action, senior Caroline Kupka won the 1-meter (320.7), while junior Alejandra Estudillo placed second (31.98). Senior Bayleigh Cranford claimed victory in the 3-meter (352.05).
