OUTDOOR: Competed in three relays at the Texas Relays, helping the Longhorns win the SMR (3:15.03) and finish second in both the 4x100 (39.74) and the 4x400 (3:04.11)... Ran a personal best in the 100 (10.48) and finished fifth in the 200 (21.22) at the Cameron Burrell Alumni Invite... Posted two runner-up finishes at the Mt. SAC Relays in the 400m (45.48) and the 4x100 (40.18)... Finished eighth in the 200-meter with his time of 20.95w at the Texas Invitational...
INDOOR: Opened the season winning the 500-meter with a time of 1:01.40 at the Commonwealth College Opener... Ran three events at the Rod McCravy Memorial Invite - 60m (6.94), 300m (32.96) and the 4x400 (3:08.96)... Competed in the 60m (6.87) an the 300m (32.84) at the Dr. MLK Jr. Invitational... Competed in both the 200m (21.16) and the 400m (45.54) at the NM Collegiate Classic the latter being the No. 3 performance in UT history... Broke the Texas program record in the 400-meter prelims with his PB time of 45.23 and later finished fourth in the finals and third in the 4x400 relay at the Big 12 Championships... Finished 7th in the 400m at the NCAA Indoor Championships with his time of 46.01.
2022-23 (Senior)
OUTDOOR: Ran the opening leg of the 4x400 relay that finished seventh at the 95th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays with a time of 3:03.27... Ran the 200m at the Tom Jones Memorial in 21.58w and finished the 400m in 45.96... Won the Texas Invitational 400m in 46.14... Finished fifth at the Big 12 Championships in the 400m with his time of 45.38... Finished 16th at the NCAA West Prelims in the 400m with a time of 45.93... Ran at the NCAA Championships in the 4x400 relay and helped Texas finished 11th with a time of 3:01.90 - the fifth-fastest time in UT history.
INDOOR: Set the American record and ran the second fastest 500m time ever at the Commonwealth College Opener with his time of 59.87 becoming only the second man ever to run sub-one minute. He earned National Athlete of the Week honors for the accomplishment... Competed in the 60m and the 200m at the Cardinal Classic... Finished fourth in the 400 at the Big 12 Championships with his time of 46.23 moving him to the No. 5 performer in Texas history...
2021-22 Season (Junior):
OUTDOOR: Helped Texas win the Sprint Medley Relay with a time of 4:14.64 and ran the anchor leg of the fourth-place 4x400 that finished with a time of 3:02.99 at the Texas Relays…Ran in the open 400m and was the second leg of the winning 4x400 relay team that posted a time of 3:02.33, the No. 4 in the NCAA... Ran a wind-aided 200m time and finished sixth in the 400m with a time of 46.13 at the Mt. SAC Relays...Ran the 400m in 46.30 and ran the anchor leg of the 4x400 relay that ran 3:03.01 (No. 5 in Texas history) at the LSU Invitational… Finished seventh in the 400m at the Big 12 Championships and helped Texas to a team title… Ran a personal-best and a top-10 Texas time in the 400m on his way to qualifying for the NCAA Championships at prelims and helped Texas break the 4x400 relay program record… Helped the Longhorns finish fourth in the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:01.69 and competed in the open 400m, helping Texas to a runner-up performance.
INDOOR: Made his Texas debut at the Clemson Invitational in the 300m and the 4x400 relay... Ran a time of 33.59 and helped Texas win the relay with a time of 3:05.21, the No. 4 time in program history and the current No. 2 time in the NCAA... Finished fourth in the men's 400m with a time of 46.82 and helped the Texas A relay team finish third with a time of 3:07.21 at the Red Raider Open... Competed in the 400m dash at the New Mexico Collegiate Invite... Ran a 47.34 in the 400m at the Tiger Paw Invite.... Was the anchor leg of the winning 4x400 relay team that finished with a program-record time of 3:04.19 and finished sixth in the 400m with a time of 47.14 at the Big 12 Championships... Ran the anchor leg of the 4x400 relay team that finished as the runner-up and helped Texas win its first ever NCAA Team Title at the NCAA Indoor Championships.
2020-2021 (Sophomore at USC):
OUTDOOR: Competed in eight outdoor meets for USC... Helped USC win the 4x400 relay at the Florida Relays with a time of 3:04.05 and fifth in the 400m with a time of 46.46... Championed the 400m dash and the 4x400 relay at the Cal vs. USC dual meet... Won the 400m at the Long Beach Invitational (45.85)... Won the 400m (46.38) and the 4x400 relay (3:06.19) in the dual meet against UCLA... Runner-up at the Pac-12 Championships in 400m and won the 4x400 relay... Ran a personal-best 400m time inn the prelims at the NCAA West Prelims (45.55) and advanced to NCAAs in both the 400m and 4x400 relay... Finished 13th in the 400m and fourth in relay at the NCAA Championships.
INDOOR: Competed in four indoor meets for the Trojans in the 400m and the 4x400 relay... Finished with a best indoor time in the 400m at 46.77 at the Wooo Pig Classic... Helped the Trojans finish second in the relay at the USC Trojan Invitational.
2019-2020 (Freshman): Herron did not compete indoors or outdoors before the season was canceled due to COVID-19.
HIGH SCHOOL: Herron is a 2019 graduate of Lakeside HS in Atlanta, Ga. He has personal bests of 46.07 in the 400m, and 20.93 in the 200m and 10.75 in the 100m. Herron is the High School 300m indoor record holder with a time of 32.64. He is also set national freshman high school indoor 400m record holder which has since been passed. He ran on the U20 4x400m relay team along with Zach Shinnick which set world record at the 2017 Pan American U20 Championships in Peru. As a sophomore, he took second in the 200m and 400m at the Georgia High School 7A State Meet.
Prior to Texas: Brian was born on November 24, 2000...His parents are Joyce and Michael Herron and he has one brother, Daniel....He likes to build computers as a hobby...His favorite food is Ethiopian cuisine...Someday would like to travel to Dubai...He is a Computer Engineering major at USC.
