Won the U.S. Olympic Trials long jump title on his final attempt, posting a career-best leap of 27-04.25 (8.33m), earning a trip to the Olympic Games in London where he finished 10th ... had the best mark (26-7.25/ 8.11m) in the qualifying round at the Olympics and one of just two automatic qualifiers for the finals ... first Longhorn to reach the long jump finals at the Olympics ... won his second long jump NCAA Championship at outdoors with a mark of 27-00 (8.23m) ... became the first collegian to win both the Olympic Trials and the NCAA Outdoor long-jump competition in the same year since 1960 ...won the Big 12 Outdoor title with a mark of 26-10.50 (8.19m) in the long jump and finished sixth in the 100m at 10.24 ... finished third in the long jump at the NCAA Indoor Championships with a mark of 26-02 (7.97m) ... won the Big 12 Indoor title with a mark of 25-04.75 (7.74m).
